the lowdown

GLS Spain is a leader in the logistics sector who carries out high-quality and trustworthy parcel services, as well as providing urgent deliveries and added-value products related to logistics. After a change in their corporate image and in pursuit of the goal of improving their users’ experience, they began to consider the development of a mobile solution.

the challenge

In this case, we found ourselves with an excellent client who needed to be introduced to the mobile world.

Furthermore, it needed to be done with a product that could not only replicate delivery tracking and flex delivery service, but also go a step further by giving the user added value with new functionalities like hiring services from their home, setting delivery preferences, or package returns.

the solution

We designed the creation of this app to take advantage of the upsides of the mobile platform and to create new flows of interaction and delivery tracking, improving the experience of users who have hired GLS services while at the same time strengthening the company’s image.

To make this possible we drafted the wireframes, integrating all the functionalities until we achieved fluid navigation. This UX design is appreciated by the user beyond just the visual aspects. The new design of the UI adapted to GLS’s new image uses the brand’s vivid colours.

Native development allows the user to get information on their ongoing deliveries quickly, easily, and in real time. It also allows for the creation of a profile that lets them control their preferences for the different services available.

This combination of efforts between the design and development teams achieved, among other improvements, a very detailed customization of package services and a highly usable calculator that allows for the instant calculation of shipping prices.
